An Exhibition of new paintings, and ceramic sculpture exploring the journey of life
by Alice Linford Forte and Lesley Witham
NO POWER ON EARTH CAN STOP AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME
explore with the artists the ideas of time, place and life’s journey
Opens Thursday 28 December 2017 at 6PM
Time and Tide is an exhibition of new works from popular, young Margaret River artist Alice Linford Forte and Western Australian sculpture artist Lesley Whitham.
Alice explores time and place through her work as she travels the globe constantly inspired by culture, the places she visits and lives, oceans and skies. Travelling for her is a constant reminder to live with some abandon but to stay responsive and this is reflected in her beautifully coloured and vibrant works.
Lesley originally studied in Scotland and now lives and works in the south west of Western Australia.
Using simple iconic symbols of fish, boats, trees and other elements that resonate with her, Lesley aims to convey notions of passing time and life’s journey.
The personal experience of migration, motherhood and creative pursuits feature in my sculptures so each piece has its own story.
Together, the artists are inspired by time and place and the journey of life.
These new works from both artists are stunning and personally moving.
The Exhibition will be opened by Peter Klinken Chief Scientist of Western Australia
