CHRIS BELLAMY grew up in the forests of W.A. around Donnybrook and worked as a freelance illustrator for over 20 years with clients in Europe, New York and Australia.
Chris now resides in Melbourne, but still draws from her childhood experiences and memories of the beautiful forests in W.A.
Working in many mediums Chris has settled on oils using many fine layers of glazes.
Her unique blurring technique evokes time, light, memory and mystery.
Are the trees guarding a secret meeting lit in the midst of the bush?
The use of light in a dimly illuminated scenario keeps the viewer guessing as to what is around the next solemn tree.
This ambiguity stimulates the imagination to envisage an awaiting narrative.
Chris‘s work is unique to the Margaret River Gallery in Western Australia.
